Metal Hammer (Germany) | ISSUE 05/2017

Matthias Mineur

Jenna Jacob is a real multi-talent: her musical training includes guitar, vocal and piano lessons, additionally, she has profound expertise in music theory and a lead voice that is convincing by nature. Together with guitarist/producer Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call), she realized her first EP NO TURNING BACK and presented strong compositions that are on the interface between hard rock and melodic metal. All that is superb produced, impeccably recorded and endowed with super professional details (sound, booklet, photos). You should have heard it! Just one question remains open: Can Jenna follow in Doro's footsteps?

To me, it was a pleasant surprise - even though it's just a demo with five songs and not a full-lenght album. But that is enough to say, she's got something unique. A perfect voice and pleasant rock music - with one eye tunred blind you could speak of metal. A solid instrumental performance with catchy keyboards and beautiful vocals. Today, there are many similar recordings, but one can say, it's an appealing performance which is nice to hear. So stay tuned and wait for the records in standard lenght - I would intuitively say that it will be a very beautiful and surprisingly strong accomplishment.

Jenna Jacob comes from Germany, stood already on stage in Wacken with Skyline and Chris Boltendahl (Grave Digger) and has been in TV with Peter Maffay. So far the facts. Now, the young lady with the rocking organ delivers with "No Turning Back" 5 songs which are the result of the collaboration with Freedom Call guitarist Lars Rettkowitz. The disk is good produced, catchy and can be seen as a comprehensive application since Jenna is looking for a band according to her website. I'm sure she'll find a band soon than later.

Hardline (Germany) | ISSUE 31

Jenna Jacob comes from Germany and is about to conquer the rock world with her EP "No Turning Back". Good - rocking ladies, who appear as solo artists, aren't really unusual in Germany (besides Doro there is e. g. ELA from Hamburg) but Jenna Jacob's music is pretty ace. Straight forward rocking hardrock which keeps the cervical vertebras busy. Also Jenna's voice is nicely rocking and doesn't even try to copy more famous singers. Hopefully, such a talents will be discovered soon and her career can start as well.
